- 15.07.2010: Employability and Personality
In this article Dr Robert Hogan, President
of Hogan Assessment Systems, critically evaluates the concept of employability and its relationship with
assessment and strategic-self awareness. Despite the lack of empirical
evidence, Dr Hogan proposes a three-facets framework of employability: 1) Individual Characteristics required
to get hired; 2) Individual Characteristics required to retain the job and 3)
Individual Characteristics required to negotiate career transitions. Dr Hogan
argues that this model is a function of personality and not cognitive ability;
furthermore, he describes the links between strategic self-awareness, training
and job-hunting, explaining why these links are important for job seekers,
managers, executives and knowledge workers. Download article here
